Enhanced activity and water tolerance promoted by Ce on MnO/ZSM-5 for ozone decomposition

Abstract Catalytic decomposition is a promising way to eliminate ozone using manganese oxides. However, water-induced deactivation of the catalysts remains challenge for further application. In this work, series Ce-promoted MnO supported on ZSM-5 (Mn-xCe/ZSM-5) were developed decomposition, which exhibited superior catalytic performance. The characterized by multiple techniques. It indicated that was highly dispersed (Mn/ZSM-5), accounting high performance decomposition. Addition Ce in Mn/ZSM-5 formed abundant redox pairs promoted electron transfer, and thus activity. Mn–3Ce/ZSM-5 with medium loading showed maximum activity exposing most active sites. Furthermore, water-resistant comparison modulating surface acidic property be beneficial water desorption. This work provides an efficient facile fabricate Mn low valence effective stable at room temperature.
